Peripheral Devices
Computer peripheral is kind of device which connect to computer. It refer to a device which is responsible for input as well as output of computer. Peripheral devices can connect to computer through wire or wireless like I/O interface, universal serial bus(USB),serial port ,Bluetooth etc.Devices will perform it function after connect to the computer system.
A Peripheral device may be classified as: ·
Internal device ·
Internal device It is IN-built device.user can use through external device. CD-ROM drive,CD-R drive, Internal modem etc.
External device
External device It must be connected by user. Mouse,keyboard,printer, Monitor etc. Mostly when we refer to peripherals device we mean external ones but both have equal importance.
Type of Peripheral Device:
Input devices It is used to send data to a computer.it allow users to communicate and feed instructions and data to computer for processing,display or transmission. Ex: Mouse, keyboard etc Output device It is used to send data from computer to another device or user. Ex:Monitor , printer ,projectors,headphones etc Storage device
It is used for storing,porting and extracting data files.It can store data temporarily and permanently both. Ex:Hard drive, flash drive etc

Keyboard
Allow user to input data or to communicate with a computer. ü Keys and letters are arranged to function as electronic switches. Key include punctuaton,alphanumeric and special keys like windows key and multimedia key.
Printer
It accepts text and graphic output from a computer and transfers the information to paper. ü It vary in size,speed,sophistication and cost.
Internal modem
It is a device installed inside a computer allowing the computer to communicate over a network with other connected computers. Two types of internal modems: dial-up and Wifi. ·
Scanner
It is a device that scans documents such as photographs and pages of text. ü It is handheld,feed-in and flattered types.
Is it Essential device of computer?
It is not the essential part but important part of computer.without this device it quite complex to interact with computer.This is the most common way to interact with computer and widely acceptable.
