HOW TO PREVENT YOUR COMPUTER FROM VIRUS?

HOW TO PREVENT YOUR COMPUTER FROM VIRUS?

Do not open any e-mail attachment that you think may have a computer virus. Your antivirus software may not be able to clean the virus received.

Avoid booting the computer with a floppy. If it is required to boot from a Floppy, use a floppy that is virus free and write protected.

Do not exchange pen drives with others. If you do so, always scan a Pen drive with antivirus software before using it.

Do not download contents from internet that you doubt may have a computer virus. Virus may piggy-back on such contents. Whether you are purchasing software online or downloading free files, you should be sure the site you are using is trustworthy that you doubt may have a computer virus.

Scan everything that you download from internet. Most antivirus programs can be configured to automatically inspect every downloaded file.

Always keep at least one of back-up copies of all original disks. This does not prevent a virus infection but it helps in the recovery process if the virus corrupts the data.

Don’t use pen drives or CDs from stingers or friends who are careless about computer viruses.

Use antivirus software like Norton Antivirus, Quick Heal etc. Antivirus software can be purchased from local computer stores or bought by downloading directly from the Internet.
